Resilience and 2024
Happy New Year – 2025!
As I reflect over the year gone by, the word that stands out is – Resilience. 💫
While for me 2024 was filled with challenges and ambiguity, it taught me to adapt and grow through these challenges and gave me many moments to be grateful for 🙏 . Over the years I have come to value resilience a lot and especially more so as I was on my infertility journey. Since then Resilience has aways been in my top 3 values.
While undergoing my infertility treatments, I found the strength to move on as I processed the pain during my emotional roller-coaster of a journey and embraced uncertainty. This allowed me to persevere in the face of challenges and still find a way to keep going with hope and determination. 🌈
So why am I taking about Resilience today? This is because over the years it has helped me manage emotional stress, maintain relationships with my loved ones and has helped me stay focused on the bigger picture. Especially in the chaotic world today with so much noise around us resilience is more vital than ever.
Here are some ways that have worked for me and could prove valuable to those of you who are looking to build resilience –
🌼 Feel your emotions – It starts with acknowledging and accepting – give yourself the permission to feel every emotion you are experiencing and process it.
🌼 Shift your mindset – Change your perspective. Ask yourself – what can I learn from this experience?
🌼 Self – compassion – Show kindness towards yourself. While this is true for everyone, especially more so for those going through infertility where the feelings of guilt or inadequacy often come up – treat yourself as you would a dear friend.
🌼 Set boundaries – Protect your emotional well – being by setting boundaries. Politely decline invasive questions or unhelpful advice, and limit exposure to your triggers.
🌼 Find support – Connect with those who share your experience. Resilience blooms in connection. For those going thru infertility may think of joining a support group or working with a fertility mindset coach.
🌼 Celebrate small wins – Positive reinforcement helps resilience grow. So, take a moment to pause and appreciate joy. Recognize and celebrate your efforts.
🌼 Gratitude – Each day write down 3 things you are grateful for. Remind yourself of the things you are thankful for and appreciate in your life.
Resilience helps navigate transitions or challenges in our lives with courage and hope and helps us find opportunities to grow in the darkest of the times. 🔆
