Take time for self-care
In this fast paced, ever-changing world, we find ourselves constantly running from one task to other. We have mastered the art of pushing ourselves to the furthest possible limit to do as much as we can in the 24 hours we have.
Recently I had a conversation with my 4-year-old on mindfulness, after which she announced that I should practice a breathing technique with her since she noticed I needed a break 😀 ! We had a beautiful conversation on taming the monkey in the mind which got me thinking of my other conversations I have had with the women leaders I work with. These conversations too revolved around the importance of pausing and reflecting, self-care and giving yourself grace. What intrigued me was the unusual number of times this topic came up in my coaching conversations in past few weeks followed by this heartwarming interaction with my 4-year-old. May be this was a sign! So here I am telling those of you who need to hear this – take time to take care of yourself!
🌼 Take time to pause and reflect – Press the pause button and reflect, look around and catch up with yourself. Ask questions like who am I? what do I want most in life? what did I do today to add value to myself?
🌼 Give yourself grace – How many times have we embraced others – our friends, our family members, if they missed something or made a mistake? Often, right? Then why can’t we extend this kindness and empathy to ourselves? Mistakes happen, we miss out on something and that is okay. We all are humans after all. Believe me, you need this and truly deserve it!
🌼 Take time for self-care – With the busy lives we all lead, prioritizing ourselves is key. It is essential to nurture our mind body and soul and engage in activities that rejuvenate us. This helps to lead a more fulfilling life.
I would urge you to take next 5 mins to pause and ask yourself – what did I do today to add value to myself or may be take a couple of deep breaths or practice self-compassion and notice how your mind body and soul is thanking you for these 5 mins! Mine sure did, thanks to my 4-years-old!
